We had the pleasure of catching up with Sound City Launch Training alumni; Merseyside singer-songwriter, producer and visual artist Niki Kand. Here's what Niki has been up to since attending the Sound City Launch Training and a few tips she took away from her experience.
What were you doing before you embarked on Sound City Launch Training?
I was an aspiring artist, teaching piano lessons and working on my writing skills.
What was the best thing you took away from Launch?
I absolutely loved connecting with like-minded people. The topics discussed during the training were also quite helpful, but the best part for me was networking as it led to some collaborations later on.
What are you up to now?
My plan for 2021 is to continue releasing music. I quite enjoy writing and am also eager to see how my music finds its audience.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone at the start of their career in music, what would it be?
Whenever I feel lost or am confused about what I do, I ask myself if I’m trying to fit in or if I’m trying to be the artist I want to be! This question has always helped me check my value system and cancel the noise.
