Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Graduation 2021

Set to celebrate the hard work and determination that Liverpool City Region has become synonymous for: Halton Council, Sound City, Be More and the Liverpool City Region (with support from the European Social Fund) have announced a special celebratory night in 2021 for the Liverpool City Region: Apprenticeship Graduation.

In a year of upheaval and struggle unlike any generation has seen before, the importance of apprentices and apprenticeships has risen to new heights. Playing a pivotal role in creating pathways for thousands on their road to new careers, the hard work and determination shown by the area’s apprentice community has been staggering. Through it all, their resilient nature has stood tall - keeping Liverpool City Region industries on the go and adapting in 2020 and beyond.

The Liverpool City Region: Apprenticeship Graduation 2021 promises to mark that determination and hard work, with an evening celebrating the achievements of apprentices not only in attendance but across the region. Produced and organised by the celebrated creative heads of Sound City, whose headline festival weekend sits as an annual hub for new music discovery in the City - welcoming thousands from around the UK and the globe, the night is set to be full of surprises, entertainment and an atmosphere like no other. Giving apprentices their night in the heart of Liverpool, it’s guaranteed to be a night you won’t want to miss.

Apprentices who have completed an apprenticeship programme between August 2019 to July 2021 can apply for FREE tickets to the event, allocated on a first-come first-serve basis on sale on Eventbrite.

Announced today for the night is a very special guest speaker, in the form of Olympic gymnast legend Beth Tweddle MBE. Across her incredible career, Beth became a true favourite across the nation, winning championships around the world and storming the Olympic stage at London 2012 to win a Bronze Medal in the Uneven Bars. An inspirational figure to many looking to get into sport and gymnastics in particular, her story of determination and perseverance is one sure to ring true across Graduates gathered - as a sporting icon helps celebrate their phenomenal achievements.

Speaking about her appearance at Liverpool City Region: Apprenticeship Graduation 2021, Beth Tweddle MBE said:

“It is an honour to be asked to speak at this year’s Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Graduation. Taking those first steps to launch into new careers and gain the skills needed to be the best you can within those careers requires a high degree of hard-work in regular times, never mind the past 18 months! I am inspired by their determination, and I look forward to being there to mark all of their success at a very special evening”

Speaking about the LCR: Apprenticeship Graduation 2021, Halton Council’s Mel Dodd said: “Apprentices and the Apprenticeship Programme are vital to the Liverpool City Region, creating opportunities and career-paths for thousands to follow through dedicated hard work and commitment. In a year that has put huge pressures on the job community, their determination has been astounding across a vast sector of industries that utilise and employ apprentices in their everyday work lives. They truly deserve an evening to mark their incredible achievements, and thanks to our partners in Sound City, Be More and the LCR, we’re delighted to bring that to them in 2021”.
