A 5 day artistic residency took place the week before Sound City 2019 were the musicians, visual artists and Gwenno collaborated to produce the unique performance. With coverage from Clash Music, Line of Best Fit and 5,000 Sound City attendees.
Gwenno performed in District venue with a special one-off performance of her brand-new work with her producer, Rhys Edwards, and some of the region’s most exciting emerging female talent. Female visual artists and musicians created a performance to be listened to through headsets in a silent disco style event to encourage the exploration of concepts inspired by a sense of place and people, drawing from Liverpool’s rich and varied communities.
Sound City Both Sides Now Partnership: worked because Both Sides Now and Sound City are passionate about making opportunities for females in the industry to perform. Female artists get to showcase their work to a guaranteed Sound City audience and we can inspire other female creatives to create and perform work of their own.
