ShaoDow (Pronounced Sha-Ow-Dough), is a UK Hip Hop and Grime recording artist carving a distinctively different independent path with the release of his third album 'シャウ道 The Way of Shao’ which comes with a Japanese Manga comic book of the same name.

With features from Krizz Kaliko, Papoose, Dot Rotten, Genesis Elijah and more, the South-East London musician is using his latest offering to showcase the technical brilliance of his Katana-sharp rapping which is laced with super smart lyricism that doesn’t overreach for a punch line but surpasses regular wordplay with some seriously complex literary techniques.

Delivering blow after blow of great double entendres, metaphors, homophones, similes and imagery, ShaoDow is a rap artist, very much on the rise, who has crafted his uniqueness.

BBC6 Music’s Tom Robinson said: ‘A brilliant rapper with a wonderful flow.’

His debut Fire in the Booth on the Charlie Sloth BBC 1Xtra show was billed as ‘incredible’ by GRM Daily who described ShaoDow’s freestyle as “something different in a congested scene and definitely… refreshing.”

The music website said: “Shao literally goes off with a flow that sees him act as a lyrical dojo and even spitting in Japanese.”

Winner of the AIM 2017 Music Award's Hardest Working Artist and hailed as ‘one of the hardest working rappers’ in the industry by BBC 1Xtra's DJ Semtex, he still remains fiercely independent.

The enterprising performer is the first ever artist to run his own pop-up shop in major shopping centres across the UK selling his popular merchandise and headphone brand through his company, DIY Gang Entertainment.

A disciplined and self-challenging artist, ShaoDow speaks French and Japanese, has a law degree and years of training in various martial arts including Shaolin Kung Fu in China.

His single ‘Till The Casket Drops’ ft. Serocee, Durrty Goodz, AC & Papoose received strong rotation on the BBC Introducing Playlist, Radio 1, 1Xtra and Kerrang amongst others.

In the live arena Shao is a force to be reckoned with, he has opened for legends like Stormzy, Skepta, Tech N9ne, Wiley and Akala, appeared at Reading and Leeds festivals and performed across Europe, South America and Asia.
