2024 Her Music Awardee Shakura S’Aida has traveled the globe to over 30 countries for more than two decades. In 2023, Shakura’s first new album in ten years, Hold on to Love, co-produced with Donna Grantis (Prince/3 rd Eye Girl), Keb’ Mo,’ and Roger Costa (Jeff Healey), was Juno nominated in the Contemporary Roots category and won the Folk Music Ontario Album of the Year. Shakura has been honoured as Le Marraine de France Blues & the Cahors Blues Festival, as well as the Ambassadrice du Sierre Blues Festival.
