"My name's Sam, from the coast of Essex, in the UK. I make catchy croutons with things like pots and pans. I like to try and take the singer songwriter genre down different paths, taking influence from jazz, rock, hip hop and folk. In my music I've taken influence from artists like Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead and Thundercat to name a few. However the most important thing to me is to create a style of my own.

I started off down the solo route in late 2016, wanting to make something as simple as possible, just on my own. So I made my debut EP - 'Nothing in Particular'. I wrote some songs one evening and then recorded them myself the following morning.

Having really enjoyed making it, and with the song 'Bodies' receiving airplay on BBC 6Music, I made another EP - 'Moon Jelly'. This EP included a much larger variety of instruments and sounds such as synthesis, trombone and recording the track 'Salt Water' just using my phone. It was also far more developed musically than the first and helped me in finding my own style. The opening track, 'We Live in a Desert' also received a couple of features on 6Music, from Tom Robinson.

I have tried to sculpt my own style by using all sorts of things for percussion such as pots and pans. Also by really making sure all of my songs primarily sound different from one another. I also try to evolve, and keep trying out new styles and ideas to keep my music moving forward as much as I can.

Moving into 2018, I will be going hard with The Lemon Lizards. Made up of Ini Chancellor, Ben Butler and Eddie Jowers, we have twisted my solo songs into a band format, and have been gigging around the local venues and festivals, such as The Hunter Club and BNatural Festival; now moving further out having headlined our first London show at The Amersham Arms, and shows lined up at The Cambridge Junction's J1.

Having just finished two singles to be released early in the new year, which I am really excited to put out as these are a real step forward to making better music. I hope to continue to develop my sound further, both on record and live".
