Lauren Ackie is a singer/songwriter based in the UK. Heavily influenced by 90s R&B, some of her favourite artists include Brandy, Lauryn Hill and Donell Jones and this is often resonates throughout her 90s style harmonies.
Lauren found her passion for singing at the tender age of 7 and went on to attend a performing arts secondary school which allowed her to explore and expand this passion. She soon developed a love for words which may even rival her love for singing itself and started writing and developing her own songs at the age of 16.
Every aspect of her art is rewarded with equal attention and this is clear to see throughout her lyrics, choice of melodies and even the cover art of her projects. When asked about this you'll find her reply to be that ""music should appeal to all your senses, not just your ears. It's about what you see and feel; what you remember and where you've been or where you haven't. To me, music is something you can see vividly - something you can grab a hold of and feel the colours running through your fingers. I think it's important for that to be seen not just in my sound but in my words and in my visuals.
