This is the best adjective to describe the band Far Form Alaska. No one could suspect that from Natal, Rio Grande Do Norte state, Brazil, a city known for it’s tropical beaches with white sand and warm sea, the ve members Emmily Bar- reto (vocals), Cris Botarelli (Steel Guitar, Synths and vo- cals), Rafael Brasil (guitars), Edu Filgueira (bass) e Lau- ro Kirsch (drums) would put together a rock band with queer sound that is supris- ing everyone wherever they pass. Heavy riffs, female vocals and lyrics in English once were very unlikely to succeed where they came from, but today they are one of the biggest bands in Brazil.
