Dama Scout

Where – CONSTELLATIONS | Sunday

Alt-rock trio Dama Scout are a 'fascinating new band with an overflowing box of tricks' (DIY). They
formed in 2016 - showcasing debut song “Forget It’s Good” in October exhibiting ‘colossal
potential’ (Crack In The Road). This quickly caught the attention of new music blogs, BBC
Introducing, NTS and Amazing Radio. Follow-up single “All In Too” with its ‘deliciously scuzzed-up
strain of dreamy, shoegaze' (Line of Best Fit) earned further airplay and online reach.

Dama Scout started when Eva Liu (guitar/vocals) & Lucci Rossi (bass) began experimenting with
unconventional approaches to songwriting. They share a fervour for the raw sound of distorted
60s’ recordings and the dreaminess of late 80s’ indie-rock, whilst embracing the limitations of
bedroom recording. The trio was completed when childhood friend Danny Grant (drums) relocated
to London bringing his atypical approach to playing while sharing the bands’ sensibilities.

The name Dama Scout came from Liu’s lifelong enchantment with ‘Scout’ from Harper Lee’s “To
Kill A Mocking Bird” prefixed with the duo-syllabic ‘Dama’ meaning woman or deer. The trio’s
reference to the number ‘three’ (as heard throughout their music and lyrics) is also reflected in the
three syllables of the name.

Dama Scout are preparing to share more self-produced music & videos in 2017 and begin the
process of recording their debut album.
