Aimée Fatale
Aimée Fatale looks to create a dreamlike world in which every emotion is heightened. With an ‘inimitable delivery’, she weaves tales of love, heartbreak, and revenge.
Inspiration comes from the untold stories buried within everything around her; vintage magazines; her collection of antique furniture & artwork; second-hand toy keyboards.
French New Wave films as well as the filmography of Sofia Coppola influence the distinctly feminine themes and aesthetic. The works of writers such as Sylvia Plath and Jack Kerouac inspire her confessional lyrics, as she underpins modern topics with vintage imagery. The songs are almost like diary entries with their brutally honest lyricism, and when she steps onto stage, it is as if she confesses her deepest secrets to a rapt audience.
Aimée’s sound is a patchwork of influences. Leonard Cohen’s poetic musings, Nick Cave’s dark mystique, The Velvet Underground’s avant-garde spirit. Broadcast, Pixies, Dusty Springfield, Nancy Sinatra, Julee Cruise, and The Beach Boys—all threads woven into Aimée’s sonic fabric.
Aimée's genre-blending approach combines elements of chamber pop, blues, and alternative pop, all filtered through a dark 1960s lens. This unique sound is brought to life with tender layers of mellotron and 1980s Casiotone keyboard sounds, creating a sonic landscape that is hauntingly lush. Delicately fusing past and present, Aimée produces a sound that is both timeless, and yet uniquely her own.
In previous projects Aimée was said to have had an ‘undeniable star quality’. With her otherworldly allure and a ‘captivating stillness’ onstage, she is poised to draw audiences into her world, and is one to watch for 2025.
