Born and raised in East London, Walthamstow, the city has always been the singer-songwriter’s playground: warehouse parties in secret locations, the suspended reality of the late-night underground and the first glimpse of sunrise in the small hours are woven into the fabric of Rose Gray’s sound. A tipple of ethereal dance music and unorthodox, anthemic pop but with her gaze fixed firmly on the future while nodding to a lineage of artists who have defined the DNA of metropolitan nightlife. To name a few; Deee-Lite, 00's Kylie, Bicep, Primal Scream and Saint Etienne.

Night Wars is an intimate introduction to South West Londoner Lees. Made remotely in lockdown with Liam Howe (Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs) and Eg White (Adele, Dua Lipa), Lees first ever releases are collages of breakups - within families, or with a lover - and, also, emotional breakthroughs. Lees is influenced by a wide range of music, from the intense, ethereal electronica of Portishead to the confessional R&B of ‘Blonde’, via the raw emotion of strong female artists like Laura Marling and Imogen Heap.
