An urgent situation calls for urgent action -our present situation demands urgent action, we’re losing talent every day. Talent is distributed evenly, opportunities are not. We must go beyond the talk of representation. We must break down the barriers that are silencing talent. To achieve better gender balance and inclusivity for gender minorities on stage and behind the scenes, we need to work together to represent.
As the UK's leading festival for Keychange, Sound City proudly selects artists and innovators from across the globe to take part in the Keychange initiative. Joining Sound City 2021 are Hello Delaware, Miss Tati, Isabel Neib, Lia Lieghio and Rebecca Szymkow with other artists such as Peaches speaking and performing at Sound City 2017 and Tawiah, Violet Skies and many more taking part in previous Guesthouse x Keychange collaborative takeovers.
Sound City, like several other pledgers from across the globe continues to strive towards a 50:50 gender balance across its festival, conference, Launch training and artist development schemes, staff, music board and everything we do. We proudly achieved this across throughout 2019 and 2020 and will continue with its promise by 2022 also.
